Common Name: King Sago
Scientific Name: Cycas Revoluta
Type of Plant: Tropical/Cycad
Description: Very primitive, slow growing seed plant with a rugged
trunk, topped with stiff, deep green semi-glossy, feathery like leaves.
Height: 10-20’
Width: Trunk can grow to 1”-12” diameter, leaves grow to 20-60” long

Blooming: Females produce flower
Fruit:
Male produce cone
Climate Requirements: Heat tolerant, cold tolerant and drought tolerant
once established. Prefers full sun, but can withstand partial shade.
Care Requirements: Very low maintenance, but needs well drained soil.
Special Needs: None
Special Uses/Attributes: Heavily used commercially as an accent or ornamental plant and it can also be grown indoors as a potted plant w/ bright sun light.

FYI: Often referred to as a King Sago “Palm.” However, it is not a palm, but a cycad (seed bearing plant.)
